Then, about 3 or 4 months before my probation was completed the sex offender registration took effect in Texas and I was placed on the list. On one other side note, the retroactive registration laws (from what I have read online) were overturned by the Missouri Supreme Court in appx. 2008 (missouri was where the crime occured) but the laws of Texas keeps me on the list. One other point of interest was last year my S.O. profile on dps showed an ending registration date of 8/26/2008. When i called SAPD to find out what it meant I was told it was an error and it was changed back to lifetime regisrtation a few days later. That date was 10 years to the day after my probation ended. No one could explain why it was changed and who did it. Makes me wonder why it changed and if I am legally supposed to be on it, but what choice do I have?	Missouri/Texas

He was charged with a sex offense for having a child with a woman with whom the state of Texas has allowed him to live with for the last 8 years!! If his offense was so horrific, why would he be allowed to live with, support, and love a woman that he allegedly assaulted. My brother has struggled to find or keep a job, find adequete housing, and has been unable to participate in any of his son's milestones in school. When he complies with his mandated classes, the counselor keeps him in class ALL day and forces him to miss work; therefore, tainting his ability to be a reliable employee. He has had to endure verbal and mental abuse from probation officers and counselors. He feels trapped because his life is literally in the hands of this extremely FLAWED system!! His family has also been held hostage by this system in the larger scheme of things!! My brother, Tony, has tried to be a good provider, father, son, and brother. He deserves to have a chance to live a productive life and be removed from this registry. He is NOT a sex offender!!
