He sat weekly in classes with grown men who molested/raped children as young as 5 yrs old. His judge was wonderful in the fact the school backed him and the judge required him to write him every month for the entire 8 years. He finished probation! The judge wanted his college education to begin and finish. He finished 3 yrs. He has been fired from every job! He still at 28 lives with us because he cannot rent an apt. He gets discouraged with a life time registration.  He paid for the eight years - there is redemption for prisoners who murder! Bank robbers - but should not be a life sentence such as this. In the committee on sex offenses in Austin - the committee states "if we relax the guidelines/laws on this registration, we lose hundreds of thousands of dollars the federal government pays to mandate this registration". Michael McDonald	RSO whose so call "victim" was my girlfriend for a year and half. Our families were great friends who grew up together, went on vacations together, and so on. Mother took the "victim" to the investigator in which she refused to talk to him. The mother threatened her until she would talk. She took her again the next week and confessed to our sexual relationship.  A day later I get a call to talk to the investigator in which I refused to cooperate so a warrant was out for my arrest. It's pretty much been hell ever since. Counseling groups with rapists and child molesters, polygraph tests, random check ups by PO, and to top if off life time registration. I'm 23 and still live at home with my parents and cannot hold a decent job. My family and I have suffered tremendously and it does not ever seem to stop hurting. If there is anything I can do to help fight this I'm aboard.	Texas

I have watched lives being ruined needlessly and senselessly where the only human hurt by the "crime" seemed to be the person considered the "perpetrator" and those who love him (I have only known males in these cases, but I am sure there are some females in similar situations). I have tried to ignore the situation, remain uninvolved, and pretend I have no responsibility, but I keep being reminded by new situations of the tragedies resulting from the failure in our legal system to differentiate violent and dangerous predators from the individuals whose offenses were far more innocent. Obviously, a power greater than I knows that my background makes me one of the people who should be out in front, yelling loudly and intelligently about the stupidity of the laws and requirements. John  Lindsey	When I had just turned 19 years old, I got in trouble with an underage girl. The girl told her parents she lied to me about her age and the parents dropped the charges and the state picked them up. I had also commited a stupid vandalism charge on some property a month before when I was 18 with some friends where we kicked out spotlights shining on a model home and given an organized crime felony which they went ahead and ran concurrent with the sex charge I caught a month later behind the girl who was 4 years younger then me. I messed up probation with a DWI in 2000 and took 4 years in prison. The DWI took my risk level from level 1 minor risk level to Level 2 moderate risk level. I got out in 2003 and have not been in any trouble since and have held my job for 6 years with the same company. I have to register for just under 4 more years. It being 2009 now, my risk level has never been lowered back down to minimum 9 years later, and my life has literally been ruined by the fact I am registered sex offender. I am 30 years old now. Kids who get off the bus run yelling "Run its the guy!!!" and my neighbor one of only 2 I talk to tells me of people who have yelled that they are living across the street from a child molestor. I had to buy a doublewide because getting an apartment was an impossibility. When the law came for employers to be put on the website I was suspended with pay for over a month while they decided whether to keep me on or not at the home office after I had already been working for them for over 5 years. I'm like a hermit now afraid to talk to people or look at anyone in my neighborhood. I'm basically a prisoner in my home. I only mow my lawn on Mondays when everyone is at school or work. I have been a sex offender for 11 years now, that's almost half my life, behind just an underage girl. This same girl got pregnant 6 months later by another guy and the parents made her marry or they were gonna do the same thing to him as was done to me. People do not differentiate people on the sex offender database. My charge is the same as a sexual predator or preys on 6 year old children in the eyes of society because the sex offender website groups everyone together and makes it look that way. I have contemplated suicide many times in my life because of how low the ridicule and humiliation has brought me. Me and this girl were exactly 4 years and 36 days apart. I hope that you can find it in your hearts to differentiate, because society cannot, and the media helps fuel the fire by making everyone on the database look the same under the label of "sex offender". It was LEGAL to have sex with her, but NOT LEGAL to have a photograph of her nude breasts. SOMETHING is wrong with that law: SHE'S AN ADULT FOR SEX, BUT TOO MUCH OF A CHILD FOR A PHOTOGRAPH??? The law makes NO SENSE! Change it to something that makes sense! I feel that the laws need to be changed and feel that the young girls and the parents of the girls should also have to answer for the so called crimes comitted by these young men. And he is constantly having to pay for polygraphs (200.00 each) over the sexual offense, that was dismissed with no evidence, but because he is unable to pass , he got revocation and 2 yrs TDC, which we do not have money to fight. I am also unable to see my 3 grandsons, and stepgrandchildren.	Texas
